Petraeus Out
General David Petraeus is out of the CIA after a marital affair.
That is unfortunate. Talented guy. At one time the Left hated the guy, but when Obama gave him the he was given a pass.
He played heavily into the book I just finished (see other thread). Sorry to see a guy like that go, especially like this.

It is unfortunate to see him go, especially under the circumstances. But just wait, there'll be some conspiracy theories about him being fired because of Libya. The conspiracy theory of GEN Ham Carter being arrested by his deputy is already out there.
I haven't read the book you're referring to but I would offer this--- history books that are written so soon after events generally don't have enough information available to provide the full account. There are many pieces of classified information that aren't known, making it hard to appreciate the full context of the problem and/or how they influenced a decision.

This one was based on interviews with Petraeus himself and included the release of a majority of the classified information. So, I'm willing to take Petraeus' word in this case.

It is another example of where the commonly accepted morality is interfering with national security. I can't see this happening in France, for instance.

I read just yesterday that Hillary already said she won't do a second term and John Kerry is most likely going to replace her.

I think it has been widely reported that she told the president last year that she was a one term Secretary of State regardless of the results of the election.

Republicans will still say she was fired.
PS. She has to gear up for her next Presidential run.

Whether she is or not Libs will still say the Repubs will still say she was fired. The left loves to project what they think the right thinks. It makes them feel smart and all that stuff.

... by Right Wingers who don't know that Congress can subpoena Petraeus and anyone else they want whether they're head of CIA or not.
The level of ignorance is staggering.

I heard somewhere..about three and a half years ago that if Obama didn't fix the economy in three years, he'd be a one term president. Somebody lied.

CBS News’ Mark Knoller reported on Twitter that Petraeus also will not testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee and that acting CIA Director Michael Morrell will testify in his place.
Damn right wingers.

I read somewhere that the the National Bureau of Economic Research announced on September 20, 2010 that George W Bush's 2008-2009 recession ended in June 2009. It was the longest recession since World War II.

More like "dumb" right wingers.
If Congress wants Petraeus to testify -- hell, if they want YOU to testify -- all they have to do is issue a subpoena.
I repeat -- the level of ignorance is simply staggering.
