Sounds like a reasonable method to select your next President.

Obama might be exhibiting a lot of ZIP now, but I have confidence in the electorate. We are not stupid people. The chances we will elect someone left of Teddy Kennedy seems rather remote.

I agree....But with the way this campaign is going, it just may have a possibility of helping or hurting a candidate.

Here's my official prediction and why...
McCain will win because if you can't win Florida, you can't win the presidency these days. Obama can't win Florida because he's too young (the biggest reason), he's too liberal (the second biggest reason), and he's not white enough (a distant forth, but still, a valid reason.)
If I'm right that he can't win Florida (and I mean that's a loooooooooooong shot!) then he'll have to convert a couple of traditionally conservative states and win all of the fence sitting states. That's a tall order for someone who makes Kennedy and Clinton both look conservative by comparison.
So, it'll be close (though perhaps not quite as close as the last few), as it usually is, but it'll be McCain. Hillary would have had a better chance.

If your saying you cant win without Florida, and basing that assumption from the past two elections, you may be wrong. That may hold true if Mccain has a brother as the governor as did Bush.
As for Mccain winning,I dont see how he can have a chance. He has said he dosent know crap about economics,he has the temper of a pit bull and continues the same BS we have heard for the last 8 years.
As for my line of work,Ive never been busier in my life,so all is good on my home front, but I see others in serious trouble.

I'm suprised at the results. From how the media is covering it, you'd think Obama was the second coming......and McCain is the anti-christ.

"If your saying you cant win without Florida, and basing that assumption from the past two elections"
Nope, I basing that off of math. The simple EC math says that if you lose Florida you're fighting one helluva uphill battle to win the presidency since most of your states are either red or blue regardless of who is running (my state of Alabama is a good example. It's a red state and you can mark it down that way this election and the next time too.) If you lose Florida, which isn't one of those die hard red or blue states, you have to win ALL of the other fence sitting states. I'm not saying it can't be done....just that it's highly improbable for someone so polarizing to garner enough EC votes to make up for the loss of such an EC important state as FL.
