ironhead rocco is on a distinguished road
handlebar change

I have a 84 sporty i want to change the bars to a ape hanger type .I can see i will have to get new cables and front brake line but what about the wiring?Do i have to splice new wires into the harness or can i buy a extention kit of some sort.Also is there a site out there for info and help on this subject or is is worth having a shop do it for me

Yes, you will have to lengthen the wires. I would highly suggest you solder all the connections. Doing a bar swap is not difficult at all. Just some basic tools and a little mechanical ability will get you through it. Oh, and having a manual helps too. If you have questions or run into a problem then just ask...plenty of experts on this site...just ask them .
