The Chain,Gang...continued!

Just wanted to give an update on the status of my "chain of events". Today after work I decided to get a new chain & drive sprocket with the purchase of my new organic brake pads. I noticed yesterday that the chain was loose again,so I checked the sprocket & noticed the teeth were pretty damn sharp & time for a replacement...no sense to keep tightening a stretched chain on a worn sprocket. So I tore her down & when I went to crack the sprocket bolts loose from the hub,I found that ALL 5 nuts had backed off just enough so that the sprocket was loose,NOT falling off but loose enough so that it freespun at least 1/8''... I 'bout ****!! I'm no stranger to a Harley or to a wrench for that matter...BUT HEY,I guess I missed those 5 nuts & bolts on fastener tightening day. That rear brake heating up on me was definitely a blessing in disguise...you figure it out! Its now ALL changed out, hookin' up & the rear brakes are staying cool.
I know now that when I adjusted the chain with the loose sprocket it through the alignment off ever so slight but just enough to **** up my rear braking system...a learning experience for me & food for thought to all you forum readers who wrench on your own bikes. Be safe & thanks again,Tony
