Engine vent question 55 Panhead

The vent outlet which is in the engine case, just above and inside the oil pump is usually vented to the top of the oil tank. The 55 Pan that I'm helping with, has an aftermarket oil tank which has no top of the tank place for the vent to attach. Where do you recommend that this vent be routed.

I believe the crankcase vent is just vented to atmosphere, some people put a small filter on the end but not necessary. Same as my 82 shovel.

Thanks. I think that is true for the crankcase vent however I am wondering about the breather vent near the top of the lower end just below the oil feed to the rockers. I wonder if I can do the same with it?

Some aftermarket oil tanks put all 3 fitting on the bottom of the tank to improve the looks of the bike and relocte the lines. Usually the one to the extreme left is the feed the other 2 have a small tube connected to them from the inside of the tank. You should be able to blow through one of them for the vent. the other one is for the return line. Normally it is left nipple is for the feed, the middle nipple is for the return and the one on the right is the vent. dsv
