Original Linkert Leaking Bad.... HELP!!!

Hope someone can shed some light on this....
The "M" Linkert Carb on my '53 FL WAS fine during last ride (couple weeks ago).... Today I turned the fuel ON to fire it up and gas started POURING our of a small hole under the High Speed Jet adjustment.
I thought the float might be stuck, after tapping with a screwdriver handle (no change).... so, I took the carb off,...

I have since:
Removed and reinstalled the carb 3 times, Checking the Float, the Needle Valve, Float Height (changed this higher and lower),... I have blown compressed air through it thinking maybe some crap was causing the needle valve to hang open,... NOTHING seems to make a difference.

The float is brass and is not leaking....

Any suggestions would be GREAT.
Thanks!

RZ

It must be either non-seating needle/seat or a float that is hanging (assuming you sent the float level correctly.
So, shamelessly lifted from another forum:
Any time I mess around with a linkert float setting I always test the float action before reassembling the bowl to the carb. To test the way I do, you’ll need
1)- A wine cork big enough to plug the hole in bottom of the bowl.
2)- A 2ft. piece of rubber gas line.
3)- A small funnel. A one cup funnel is big enough.

Use the cork to seal the bottom hole in bowl, attach one end of the gas line to the bowl inlet and the other end to the small funnel. Suspend the funnel above the carb and fill it with water. Now watch the float for any interference.

One thing that you have to do with the Linkert is offset the float a bit so that it clears the boss for the needle.
