I am about to service my clutch plate Disc's, How important is it not to mix up the discs when you clean and surface them? If you totaly change the order and position what is the result?
Thanks Greg G
You don't have to keep them in any particular order. On some of the steel plates they are marked "out" just make sure they stay facing out when you put them back in. New fiber and steel plates are relatively inexpensive. If they are very old i would probably just replace them. You can get a new set of Alto red frictions and steels for less than $50.00 and they work great.
Glad to see another long time FLH loyalist. I have a 1971 FLH that I bought in 1985 and it's still my one and only bike. Wouldn't have it any other way.
Thank you UncleLaffey... I have ridden the newer models, and yes they can run circles around my bike .... but the difference of the feel... saddle position, smoothness, etc. for the kind of riding I do. This bike works best for me.
thanks,
GG
