Brother, I've been working on bikes for the better part of twenty years, and have rarely had a good experience with Ted.
His parts are poor quality and have severe fitment issues.
In all fairness, the stuff I have purchased from him have all been retro stuff. His round coils fail in just a few months, his tin primaries have NEVER fit without serious frackin' with, and I installed a mousetrap that lasted a whole two weeks. I can continue, but you've probably got the jist.
I'll admit it has been a few years since I bought anything from him, but theres a reason for that. There are quite a few items that only he can provide (Hence the Retro stuff), but almost anything else can be purchased elsewhere.
His prices are pretty inexpensive, but remember, you get what you pay for. My bike is way to important to worry about breaking down somewhere in the middle of BFE.
Hope this helps.

What he said!

Due to the needs of a couple of my customers I have to buy parts from VT but I have had a lot& I mean a lot of problems with thier stuff.
Look at the wording very carefully, some of thier stuff is actually HD product, but a lot of it is some of the worst stuff I have ever seen.
Shovel internals can be had from a lot of other places, and are almost alway's better quality.
Just my opinion.

Actually I was looking to buy stock bore clyinders, wiseco pistons, and S&S heads. J&P is lower in price on the same stuff as V-Twin, I have heard good and bad on the S&S stuff like their pistons arn`t as good as weisco and there is some problems with clearences. any thoughts?

Same here.
They are known for poor quality, and worse, return policies as well.
We try not to do business with them.

My S&S heads arrived yesterday, the cylinders (80"+0.020" over) honed for forged wiseco pistons are done, I'll order the Wood Performance cam W6S Thursday, the bottom end will be done next week, I'll get the freshly powdercoated frame and swing arm Friday...and as per Scott of Hillsides suggestion I'll scrap the 2" for 1 3/4" drag pipes...w/5/16" stacked bolt...
more to follow...

Built a 74" shovel with S & S parts to 88" and then beat it up for ten years. Gave it to my son 3 years ago who now beats it up. Good stuff and fair prices. Its a shovel- use dual plugged heads and a Dyna ignition, I would suggest a Mikuni carb though.

Yup, seen that too....I remember going to Tedd's shed when i was just old enough to remember. Dad used to go up there and buy all new chrome pike nuts and other parts for all the bikes he had. I only resort to them if there is nothing else availible now.

Dan,
Tedd's Cycle Shed, in Spring Valley, N.Y??
That brings back some memories.
