Does any one know if the pivit point on late model controls is different from early ones.example is I have a 80 fl that has late model controls on it and I can not seam to get enough clutch travel I beleive the pivit point could be different and not be getting full stroke on the cable. any body had any experiance with
I am having a similar issue. Bought newer style levers (levers only) from Iron Braid for my 81 FLT and had problems with the brake lever stroke. Still trying to figure out a way to solve it. The lever goes to the bar on the first pull, then works fine on subsequent tries. Works great with the original (straighter) levers. Found the clutch to be very touchy as far as adjusting goes with the new levers, and took me quite awhile to get it adjusted to work. Will probably ditch the new levers and have Iron Braid do their thing on my old ones before riding season returns this spring.
