S&S Sidewinder 93" Headbolts Confusion

Hey... I'm almost done this thing and am coming down to the final few questions.

S&S washers on the head bolts of the big bore shovel kit have a chamfered side. The instructions say, and I quote,

"BE SURE CHAMFERED SIDES OF WASHERS ARE LOCATED TOWARDS HEAD SIDE OF BOLTS."

Now, does this mean the chamfered side towards the actual cylinder head itself (pointed upwards)???? OR
chamfered side towards the head of the bolt (downwards)????

I've never read a more confusing installation guide in my life. Anyways, thanks for all yer helps and hope y'all arn't drunk on Jack & turkey & givin' me the answer. I hope yaz all drunk & full of turkey...

Happy ThanksGivingDay from Florida.

Are you sure ?
I've just finished to assemble the same engine, and I put the chamferred side upward, toward head (not the head of the bolt).
If you are right this means I have to put down bolts, replace head washer and to redo head work again.
CAZZO.... CAZZO......

CORRECT! Chamfer side facing down to head of bolt. I called S&S after a number of different opinions. They confirmed the positioning. OTTO had it right for me before S&S. Don't worry about re-doing it. Re-doing mine just gave me another reason to do another bottle of wine... that ain't all bad.

The way to tell if you run into the problem again is to look at the bolt head to see if the stud is at a sharp 90 to the head of the bolt or if a radius was machined into it to accept the champhered washer.
