Andrews B for Hydraulic Lifters

Greetings again!

I've decided to use an Andrews B grind in my new 93" shovel. It is my info that this cam is for solid lifters only.
Well, I don't have solids, I now run JIMS tappet blocks, power glide tappets and matching aluminum rods.
Jim Leinweber's website says you can use any of his cams with hydraulics as long as they are JIMS hydraulics or Velva touch.
So, since Leinweber cams are pretty wild, is it wrong to think that I could use this fairly straight ahead B grind successfully?

Heads are duo-plugged & ported S&S
Super E with ThunderJet
S&S Big Bore jugs and forged pistons 9.5:1
CycleRama 5 angle valve job
Cam lift up to .600
JIMS valve train and oil pump
Truett & Osborn Torque Monster 4.5" flywheels

Am I 'under' cammed for this engine. I'd like more torque off the line than upper end hp.

Yes you can use Andrew's B cam 485 lift with that type lifter you would have a problem with stock H-D hydraulics they are only good for about 450 lift. The stronger lifters cam in production after that cam was introduced.

Arrow Andrews BH is the answer

I have built many 90-93-96 inch pans with Jims lifters. The best cam for your 93" shovel would be the Andrews BH. The lead in ramps are much more friendlier to hydraulics the the B. If you want more bottom end torque you should dergree the camshaft by 5-8 degrees advanced. I use that cam and degree setting on my 93" Pan that Ipull a camper trailer with. Doesnt reall affect your midrange pull either. I do most of my work on that bike in the 2500-3400 rpm range and can do whatever I want to. If you need that service done to your cam or want a good price on the cam itself please contact me azengineering@bresnan.net
good luck, Buzzz 719-269-2474

How do you do that on that cam? can you just put it in 1 tooth advanced? ( what advance would that be? ) or do you press the gear off, advance it 5 deg. and press it back on?

I've got an 83 stock bore and stroke, crane fireball cam w/solids, I have wiseco 9.5-1 forged pistons, S&S E w/thunderjet, I'd like to cam it up a notch, I was told the Woods w6s w/510 lift would be awesome, I am wondering if that is the right move? or would the andrews B work better for me...?I do like hammering it now and then...and love that lope...83FXWG
