Dual Plug Advance

Hi guys, need some info about dual plug heads timing advance.
I've assembled my new 93" Shovelhead with STD dual plug heads.
I ve done static timing with Dyna 2K ignition about 4-5 degrees after TDC.
The engine seems to run very well, but now I'm trying to do dynamic timing but:
FIRST it's very difficult to look for timing mark (with timing light) in the hole with or without clear lens installed.
SECOND how can I look for 5 or 6 or more degrees of delay if there is no mark on the flywheel for that timing?????
Does anybody has a smarty trick to fase such an engine?????
Thanks
RR

Paint a line on the alternator rotor and inner primary cover as your witness mark, shoot your timing light at that Not in the timing hole. Using a degree wheel you can also paint another line using a different color 5or 6 degrees difference from the first mark. Then when you want that engine to run it's best install a Dyna S ignition dual fire system, loose 2 plugs on the carb side static time it and run hard Spark on!!

I would use a "dial back" timing light as mentioned below but remember for dual plugs run total advance at 28-30 degrees.

USING DIAL BACK TIMING LIGHT

Determine the advance you want at 2,500 RPM. Use a dial-back timing light. Set the amount of advance you want, say 35 degrees, on the dial-back timing light. Connect the dial-back timing light to the front cylinder. If the VOES is used, disconnect the VOES input (purple/white wire) while setting the timing with this procedure. Set the ignition module advance slope switch for maximum advance. Run the engine at 2,500 RPM. Rotate camshaft position sensor until TDC timing mark is centered in the observation hole. You will now have the amount of advance you dialed into the timing light. Tighten the standoffs and verify that timing has not shifted. Some dial-back timing lights are not compatible with odd firing H-D ® V twin engines. Most Sears units are OK. Snap-On units may not function correctly.

YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!
Great, thanks! First time someone really help me on a forum!!!!!
I think Rosascycle way is simpler yet effective, because the main problem is that I do not see any mark inside the hole even with standard (35) advance.
S&S flywheels are marked at front TDC and 35° advance, but I think it's very difficult to see mark with running engine.
I use an open belt primary and to mark front pulley is very simple.

Thanks again

BIG PROBLEM !!!!!!!
I've built a little pointer to be bolt to the alternator cover.
Then I've marked (first pic) on the pulley the Front Top Center, the 35° advance, and the 5-6° retarded points for those marks.
Well (not so well) with the fully retarded ignition plate (second pic) the timing light show me a still very advanced engine!!!!!
How is it possible?????
Everything, timing rotor, ignition switches, ecc. is set properly and after the static timing set the engine was running very well, but now that I'm trying to do dynamic timing the light tells strange things.
May be my light is too obsolete?
