Question Advice/opinions on voltage regulator.......

Picked up a '64 Panhead Electra Glide that I am "preserving/restoring and have a problem with the old volt. regulator.....need to replace it and I'm wondering if any of you guys have used the re-pop made for and sold by J&P Cycles?....don't want to go solid state, want it to be "as built" from the factory......bike runs like new and I can only assume that "time" has taken it's toll on the old regulator....I'm not questioning J&P Cycles integrity or the quality of their parts, just posing a question and asking for options.............."SHOOTER"
