Police air seat
I'm thinking about getting one. I have a bad lower back and when riding about 50 miles it becomes a real pain in the back. I've tried a number of seats and haven't found the magic one yet. Does the police seat put you in a more upright position and without being moved forward? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Is it difficult to install?

You have to get everything with the seat. You sit 2 in higher, it is very comfortable, but you are up in the wind. It sits you just about where a stock seat does. There are aftermarket air seats, my friend is putting one on his custom frame Harley. You can put the air resevoir behind the left side cover with a little cutting on the stock unit
you will need:
seat
t-bar
brackets and bolt that make the t-bar hinge
plastic frame cover
air ride cushion and locking pin
air resevoir, pressure guage, and new plastic tubing
assorted bolts and washers

Thanks Paul, appreciate the info. On your ride it looks like you might sit more straight up than leaning over (if that makes sense), that may be what I need.

Police Road Kings use Heritage handlebars. Might be something to think about before installing the seat. Not sure what handle bars you have, but if they are stock Roadking it might be a problem.

Police air seat
Steelhorse: I have a complete police air seat that I would be willing to sell. I took off of my old 2003 Police Road King when it had only 2 miles on it. I belong to a Shriner Motorcycle Unit and we all bought the bikes and replaced the seats...I have been meaning to clean out the garage and selling it would sure help with getting the parts needed for my current build. As you notice, I have replaced the cop seat with a Corbin solo. I like it better, the cop seat at 80mph is a lot of wind even with a windshield

Your all set then. I repositoned mine bars almost straight up. I have long arms. Rode with some guys this weekend, who I had not seen in a while. Two of them ask me if I put mini apes on my bike.

I like the police seat. I also like sitting up a little higher. Best seat I have ever had.

Jonas,
How is the nose of the seat. Is it comfortable when stopped? Is that the Mustang pillion?

It is fine when stopped, I have never noticed any problem with the nose of the seat. I end up sitting pretty far back on the seat. It is the Mustang Pillion seat

The Cop seat makes the bike......
The bike (a true flhpi) is engineered for that seat
Roadking classic seat (i tried on the bike) was ok
But the cop seat feel right....The bike feels like it moves up a performance notch or two when I have the police solo on it.

I'm assuming this would be true with a standard Roadking?
