Mounting Police Seat - Rivnuts?

I intend to mount a police seat on my 2005 EGS. Have all of the parts except the rivnuts and those are on order. I am baffled with these rivnuts. Have checked various forums and some say that you need a special tool to install them and others say put them in and tighten. Have talked with 3 dealers within 100 miles and none have a tool to install rivnuts. At least 2 of them appeared to less than me.

Any help/suggestions with installing these things is appreciated.

You need a rivnut puller to install a rivnut. Any sheet metal shop will be able to help you. You don't want to buy the puller as they are $$ for a one time use.

I am sure that Harbor Freight has a Rivnut tool. I have one that I bought from a tool supplyer for around $20.00 It can pull 1/4" nut. It is similar to a pop rivit tool.
