I have been looking at one for sale here in San Diego. The guy is asking $12,500 with 15,000 miles. The bike is in perfect shape. 103ci motor is the kicker for me.

That's a nice deal. Perhaps you can get him to knock a few bucks off his price!

There seems to be quite a few '07 police bikes coming off lease and into the used marketplace. I've been wanting a RK for some time, and the 103, 6 speed, ABS equipped '07 FLHPI's really do it for me.

I've been tracking auctions over on the bay. At any given time, there are usually a half dozen or so '07 and newer bikes, more RK's than Glides. Most asking prices run 12-14 thousand, but lots of bikes dont bring that much. Every now and then there'll be a bike with a buy-it-now price under 10K, and they usually go quickly.

If you search completed auctions there, you can get a pretty good feel for what's going on with these bikes. Dealers want 13-14K, but buyers want to spend less than 10K.

And yeah, I finally pulled the trigger and won an auction for a '07 RK. It's not here yet, I hope to pin down the shipping on Monday. I live near Tacoma, and the bike is in Orlando, so it's going to be at least a week before I see it in person.

Good luck with your search, please let the forum know what you wind up doing.

Finally, hello to everyone on the forum, I've been visiting here frequently and I've picked up a lot of good advice. I didn't want to register before I got a ride, but now I figure it's ok.

Oh yeah, and I forgot the best.... The bike I'm buying has about 24 thousand miles, is in good condition (couple of scuffs and a couple of dings in the gas tanks). I'd watched the auction for the week it was running. The bid hadn't reached the reserve price on the last day, so I put in a lowball bid and bought it at the reserve price of 8K.

Here is my take on police bikes and I ride one 40 hours a week. I would not buy one that I was not able to talk to the motor that was riding it. I take good care of mine but it gets ridden hard day in and day out. There is more wear and tear in the 6 to 8000 (all city) miles a year I put on (new bike every year) then in 40,000 of regular riding. also some motors when first starting out are especially hard on them. The good thing about riding them hard is you find that harelys are damn tough and can take lots of abuse.
