My 04 duty bike came from the factory with 3.15's. If my memory serves the last 3.37's we got was in either 2001 or 2002. I remember for sure our 03's were 3.15. I remember when they switched it was like loosing power.

The 3.37 gearing is what made the standard Harley police bike unusable in Calif from 03-06, also they did not put a charcoal cannister on them, I bought mine in Fla and the air cleaner box had holes in it, it was a special police addition. Also many PD bikes had richer maps for the increased idling time.

The Ca departments that bought or leased bikes in those years used "escort" bikes, the parade or funeral procession version. the only way to have one here is to bring one in used with over 7500mi on it.

You guys can pull your outer primaries and count teeth if you like. Me, I'll rely on the HD "FLT Police Models" parts catalog, PN 99545-04 which says: 36 teeth on the clutch sprocket, pn 37707-98A; and, 40250-94B compensating sprocket, 25 teeth (though the book says "32" this is a mistake.

The 25T comp sprocket and 36T clutch sprocket result in 3:15 final gearing.

You can compare these part nos. with those in the 3.37:1 Sticky:
