Mustang Passenger Seat

I purchased a mustang passenger seat to go with the police solo seat last month. Inspected it, looked nice, sat it on the bench since the wife is recovering from knee surgery and it will be a while before she's able to ride. Anyway, today I mounted it on the bike to see how it looked and went so far as to sit on it myself to see how comfy it was. After about 5 seconds I felt like I was falling off the back of the bike! It felt like it deflated if that makes sense.
It just started sinking backwards and almost flat enough to sit on the quarter turn thumb screw. Is this normal? Maybe its just because I'm not using the backrest perhaps? I'm gonna call mustang on monday and see what they say. Bad foam? Anyone else have a really super SOFT passenger seat from them? Most mustangs I've used in the past have been very firm. This one feels softer than the HD pillow soft factory seat.

That doesn't sound normal at all. I've got two Mustang seats and they're both firm without being hard.

It doesn't sound right, but it is made to use with the backrest.

I contacted mustang this morning, explained to them that the seat felt like it was deflating after about 5 seconds, causing my wife to roll off the back of the seat.
They didn't even hesitate, said they were mailing me a RA number and would stand behind it without question.
Now thats customer service!
They said it may have been a bad piece of foam, in that there may be a large air bubble that would have gone un noticed by the person covering the seat.
I'm hoping thats all it is, cause the seat was BEAUTIFUL and match my solo seat perfectly.

question

on that install, did you leave the stock radio box mounting plate on the bike?
