Talking Hey you people in Calif....Do you know?

how great you've got it out there for riding?

I and my riding buds just got back from a 7 day ride in Calif and had a blast.
We started in Vegas,
rode through Death Valley,
down to Lake Isabella,
up to Sequoia and Kings Canyon,
up to Yosemite,
over Tioga Pass to Bodie SP,
up to and around Lake Tahoe,
back down to Sonora,
then down towards Calif Hot Springs,
over to Ridgecrest and back to Vegas.

We were on more twisting roads than I've seen in a lifetime here in MN. I think we saw only like 6 CHP the whole time and the roads were empty enough to ride our own pace. We especially liked how willing people were to pull off the road out of the way if they holding us up. That never happens here in MN.

We'll be back!

Yes we do know how good we have it. I've ridden many of the roads you did and they are some of my favorite. If you ever come out here to ride again, the wine country is beautiful and the Ca. coast is worth the trip. Glad you enjoyed your trip.

It sounds like a great ride. Once you get out of the socal urban areas, the mood on the highways seems more relaxed. You won't have the same praise for drivers if you journey into the LA/Riverside/San Diego metro areas. Also, you rode before the peak tourist season (very smart). The biker crowd in socal is usually very friendly. Maybe that's because we get to ride almost every day.

I love the mountains here in Ca. I need to get another bike real soon so the wife and I can go on our vacation. We vacation every year on a bike and love it.

My wife is planning a trip to CA for late October. We'll be flying there and renting bikes for 4 or 5 days. Any recommendations for routes to take in the lower half of the state? She loves to ride but can't stand temps lower than 75.
