The city did it in 2006 and now they're doing it again. Seems they lost a ton of money last year and are calling it quits unless someone will front the money for all of the cops.

Got burned out on rally events (seen one, seen 'em all), but used to hit this one every year. Good ride. Still is, rally or not.

Maybe every one should go and it would be like the old days just some good old riding and some good times. No cops you would hope.

Went in 06-didn't make it halfway down San Benito before 2 motorcops nailed 3 of our group. Wrote up for exhaust-helmet (no dot) and persona non grata it seemed. Plenty of police-just like every year.
Going this year as well. Will give them a copy of the new CHP helmet rules-probably won't listen.

Hollister Rally being canceled for this July is no surprise. Once again the city got screwed over by outrageous law enforcement expenses.

I would suggest Hollister Council members should contact Johnstown Pennsylvania city fathers to view how Johnstown attracts upwards of 200,000 bikers in late June each year, with modest Police protection.

It was easier for our city counsel to just cancel the rally than trying to make it work!

I live in Pittsburgh PA, & go to Johnstown's Thunder in the Valley. The event is held every 3rd weekend in June. Police presence is limited. The event is spread out, from main Street, to the Mall, 6 miles north, to the City of Windber, 10 miles south. The event gets bigger every year. Cool place to stop, nice roads surrounding the event. There is even a camp ground, walking distance from a strip club

Good, I live in Hollister and the last few rallys, if thats what you want to call em have been jokes.
It's always been about the bikes, not a bunch of junk ass vendors.
People will still show up though.
