Will probably go that way. From my location I'll need to go through Hollister anyway. Most of these affairs are now like going to the county fair or your local mall. It isn't the old days anymore of smaller crowds and less commercialism(?), and less law enforcement. I do like the ride out that way though, the main reason in the first place.
I'm hoping it will be more old school--mebbe the lack of 'net buzz is good. I've never been a big event fan and started going to the Hollister rally when we moved here and lived a few blocks from downtown. Last year was tough to stomach, though.

Los Banos isnt a bad ride from Hollister.

yeah, it's ten bucks. Seems like the rate for premium parking at Hollister is a lot more than that, and the other parking is all over the place if you can find it on a side street. Not only does that bug for security reasons, but they should be front and center.
Never been to the place where the LB rally is going on, we'll see what it's like. But even the lack of internet buzz could be inviting a more interesting crowd anyway. It occurred to me that for all the glitz and crap on the 'net, there's a lot of folks getting their info the old way--paper and word of mouth.
that event absolutely was the lamest thing I've ever been to in any capacity. Lame attendance. Ten dollar entry fee. Disorganized.
I was there as a vendor and sold two shirts between Friday and Saturday. I finally folded up late Saturday and went home to Hollister. Sold six shirts in a few hours at the airport and one downtown while I hung out drawing bikes and giving out postcards.
I could blame the promoter for the rotten job he did, and I'd be right, but in the end I was dumb enough to decide to set up at an event that isn't even third rate (or 27th rate) against Hollister.
8 others and myself road to that so-called rally on sat.Got there about 11:30 only to see a few people.We stopped before the main gate and decided to go back home to Hollister.
We could not see paying 10 bucks to get in.
Gonna try pitching my gear at the Tour Pack Ride this saturday at Bolado. Goes from San Jose HD to Santa Cruz HD to Moss Landing to Bolado. Would love to be riding in it, but have some inventory to move. Besides, my shovel has been down for a while waiting for paint.
Not sure if I'm allowed to do this, but I've got some funny shirts stacked up in my garage that didn't move. Working on an online store and some local places to sell 'em.
