sanfam, I read thru the link info and I didn't see where the bikes are free? Free as in if you have an account the bike is added for free or anyone is free to use the lanes on a motorcycle? Thanks

Motorcycles can ride for free on the 91 toll lanes...

Quote:
Discounts

Vehicles with three or more persons (HOV3+), zero emission vehicles (ZEVs), motorcycles, disabled plates and disabled veterans are permitted to ride free in the 91 Express Lanes during most hours. The exception is Monday through Friday 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the eastbound direction when these users pay 50 percent of the toll. The exception that these users pay 50 percent remains in effect until such time as the Debt Service Coverage Ratio - inclusive of senior and subordinated debt - is projected to be 1.2 or greater for a six month period. At that time, HOV3+ users will ride free all day, every day.
Here is the page where this is found on...

Try it and let us know
Actually there is a big hoopla going on now about civil servants who have been using the express lanes with no transponders. They are on some special list with DMV where their personal info is not available to the agency citing them. They get caught on camera hundreds of times, even pulled over by the CHP but the citations go into some big black hole. Some of the most serious offenders have been tracked down and identified, owing 1000's of dollars in tolls.
Personally, I stay off the expess lanes. I call them high speed tailgaters lanes.

True for free

You can go to the OCTA office and sign up or call the 1800 number, the office is on Main street in Orange across from CHOC, or thay have a office in Corona, You will need a transponder or you will get a ticket in the mail. This is only for the 91 express lane none of the others will let you ride for free (133,241,73, ) you will need to pay, LOL I missed a toll last night on the 241 in my wifes SUV yesterday.
