Reno / Lake Tahoe @ Christmas Time

Hey gang, We are thinking about spending Christmas at Reno / Lake Tahoe, Can anybody shed some light on what it is like there then. Lots of Christmas Lights, Especially in the Lake Tahoe area. I have a 4X4 so I should be able to get around.

Any info would be appreciated
Thanks

Your 4 wheel drive with all terrains will be fine.
The weather is very unpredictable at the lake in late December, early January. It could be 20 degrees or 60 degrees. We had days this winter where it was much warmer at the lake than Reno which is 1500 feet lower.

Yes, make sure your coolant is up to speed and your windshield washer fluid for colder temps.
Never heard of anybody not having a good time at Lake Tahoe any time of year.

You could be tanning by the lake in December or snowed in.. Too unpredictable to call we get closer to the date.

Hell, we rode down there last year for Memorial day weeked as we had many times in the past expecting nice 80 deg days.
Not! we got snowed in at Reno and didn't even get to Tahoe which had
6" of snow!
