Run 21 Report By Request

WOW! "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here!" Blared over the PA after all the obligatory thanks, see ya next year, etc, etc.
Thus closed the latest chapter in the RUN-21 book.
I can assure you a GREAT time was had by all. The weather cooperated and was nothing short of "chamber of commerce" spectacular the entire weekend and the rare clear evening skies with the full moon overhead and terrific bands on stage until about 3am each night.
Since I am now known as BEADMAN, there was no shortage of bare chests around our campground. At last count, my friends and I had given out 30 dozen (you do the math, it's a lot of ttities) plus strands to the ladies in attendance. Hard for me to post up pics here, I am sure you can understand....
Tha bike games were great and a real highlight as always at this run with the MC Turtle doing the play by play and keeping theshow rolling.
The free booze thing from the past is history but that didn't seem to slow anybody down in the least.
The wet T-Shirt contest featured by far the best selection of contestants in many years. We won't mention the beer belly contest except to say that a member here took down $85 cash money for second place!

There were several bands both nights with the best of the best frday being Peace Frog, a Doors tribute band that was nothing short of spectacular, I am old enough to have actually seen the real Doors and I can tell you, these guys had it down. The closing Band saturday night was Randy Hansen for those who don't know, he literally wrote the book on how to play Jimi Hendrix. He was phenominal even though he was missed by many of the 2000+ in attendance because they had partied themselves out by the time he took the stage at 1am. Yours truly had actually had a nap earlier and I was awake for the entire show and again having seen the genuine article back in the day, this guy was Jimi!

Anyone within a day's ride that misses this one is missing one great old school run reminiscient of the early days of the Redwood Run.

Like any run, the people watching and the fellowship among friends old and new is what makes it. This is only our 3rd year at this run but our core group of about a dozen won't miss it if physically able in the future. I'll try to wrangle up some pics and post em later, maybe someone else can post or comment.
Vilhelm(a member here) and his lovely wife camped with us and we really enjoyed their company. RAYWOOD(a member here) stopped by to say hi. We were easy to find since we had a very large GAZINTA coumpound all decked out in pirate decor including large jolly rogers flying high in the air..

Anyhow, it's in the memory book in my head now filed among the great times I have had ever!

A great run I do agree! A first for me being new to the Northwest. My buddy and I rode down Friday and fought the traffic down I-5. Lots of hotrods heading over to the show on the coast.
Got in about 5pm on Friday and got the tents set up in the "downtown" section then got something cold and some food.
Got to meet "adlexr" so now can put a face to a name. They had quite the campground set up.
The bands were fantastic. As adlexr stated the Doors Tribute band was phenomenal! The only one that I didn't care for much was the ZZ Top tribute band but the rest were great.
Then there was the fashion shows, wet t-shirt, Run 21 girls and a host of others so lots to see.
A very remote location with great weather and the full moon at night was awesome. Then a wet ride home Sunday morning but light traffic.
I will be there next year. This was a great rally!

If anyone knows of any other rallies like this one please let me know so I can get it on my schedule.

Later,
Ray

We're throwing this one on Saturday. Not as big as Run 21 but I have some good bands lined up again and it's laid back - adults only - great land - games - vendors, and the rest of the debauchery you come to expect.

One Night Stand

One Night Stand is fun, I've been the last three years. The funnest year was when we got rained on so bad 2 or 3 years ago, I had a blast! Then again, I always have a blast!

Don, you have PM

Although late to this thread I agree, a good time was had by all at Run 21 this year. Thank You Adlerx and your crew for making it that much more fun! We missed One Night Stand but heard it was a killer party, maybe next year. Just got back from Beaver Creek Run over here in Lincoln County, What a blast it was..BIG Bonfire, great music, and as always a good bunch of folks to enjoy it with. I recommend this campout, not quite as large or rowdie as Run 21 but still a great time.
