FLHTDan wants to know Dino or Syn?
Who has had a hernia operation?

I had a hernia operation a little over two weeks ago. I had a pancreas operation 2 years ago and the muscles/lining under the old scar had deteriorated to about the size of a softball. They cut me open right down the old 8 in. scar, separated some muscles and pull it together, it's still pretty tender.
Only good thing about it it's January and can't ride anyway.
Just wondering how long some of you guys were laid up?

It's been a long time since mine but I do remember it was supposed to be a 45 minute operation and it took 2 1/2 hours. But it seems like I was able to ride about 3 weeks later even at that. But I was in pretty good shape back then. Probably would take more like 2 months now.

I had mine before I went in the service about fourteen years ago. Was out and up to no good in about two weeks. Doctors wasn't happy about it.

I had six weeks off from work at 40 years old for a double hernia. Cut across my pubic area.

I had a double a few years back. One under my belly button and one in my groin. The Doc did both in one operation. One got the mesh.
I had it done just before Thanksgiving. I was out of work three weeks.

dirtyshoprags wants to know where he is and how he got here
I had one about 17 years ago when I was in the 5th grade. For the longest time I thought I just had three nuts in my sack. Only took about 2-3 weeks to heal up.

Yep, it's weird stuff to feel like you got 3 nuts.

I had hernia surgery about 8 years ago. It was a laproscopic repair. They "punched" through my navel and pushed the mesh and instruments through. The incision was so small they didnt even use stitches. I was out of work for a week and was back in the gym, without limitations, about 9 days after surgery.

Ed Y wants to know Dino or Syn?
I had one about 3 years ago at age 69. Took about 3 weeks to get back to the gym (lite stuff at 1st) and back on the bike for short rides. Took about 5-6 weeks before I attempted anything over 200 miles. I had about a 2" incision on one side with mesh put in.

Was your belly-button popping out? I've got that going right now, and I just push it back in. Doc told me I will be okay and if losing some weight would keep it in check.

Think I'm going to lose a couple hundred pounds. Quitting that doctor is a resolution I can keep. ennis
