Such a mess our society has become. On the other hand, I realized this morning as I made a pot of coffee that I didn't have enough for Saturday. I thought I could stretch it but it was obvious that wasn't happening. Faced with no coffee Saturday morning or going out on black Friday I headed to the store. Since I'm going I might as well grab a case of beer. I might get carried away watching the "Golden Boot Bowl" this afternoon. Stafford, VA Walmart @ 12:00 noon, no crowd, no lines, no waiting, cool.

I just don't understand the mindset of the whole Black Friday "gotta shop at all costs" mentality. Really, do you really have to have that cut-rate flat screen bad enough to trample a stranger? Or pepper spray someone? Maybe i'm just too f-n laid back to give a fukk about shopping day after Thanksgiving, Hell, i'm working at my sign shop avoiding the traffic and making money instead of spending it. I think most of these greedy bastards are buying presents for themselves anyway....

I have never gone to a Black Friday event. I did shop at Newegg today and the innerweb was still working. I posted it just for fun for the amusement of our fine members.

How are you liking Newegg Fred?
Havent used them in quite a while but was window shopping for a motherboard yesterday and was surprised to read in the reviews people claiming that Newegg was refusing to honor returns.

Price wise they and Tiger Direct are real close. I exchanged a hard drive for a different one but it was unopened so there was no problem.

There is nothing at these stores on Black Friday I can't live without, I enjoyed a cup of coffee while sitting in my easy chair while the idiots worked on kicking the sh!t out of one and other.

The few things we wanted we got online... missed out on a $8 waffle maker because I didn't want to get up at 1am to close out my shopping cart so I guess we'll have to buy a $16 one.

What you see there is humans at their primitive best/worst. When we were hunter gatherers for millions of years and when food was in short supply, this kind of instinct helped a person or family to survive. Now that we are "civilized" this kind of behavior is a problem. We still have not figured out a way to deal with our primitive instincts in a civilized world. Sometimes they just break through, as we see in the Walmart video.
