Computer Question #2

Win 7, & Windows Live Mail.
Last week when I closed the mail program the little sign popped up "condensing for space" or something like that.
My entire Sent folder was emptied and now when I Send the folder does not save anything. I like to keep my Sent.
This same sign popped up last year when I had Win XP and Outlook Express and I lost 6 months worth of Received folder, not the last 6 months but from somewhere in the middle of the folder. Someone told me to search for a certain .dbx , I think it was, but it didn't help me.
How do I get my Sent folder back and working again?

Fred I don't use Windows Live Mail so I can't help you. I'd suggest using Googles G-Mail or MSN Hotmail which are both free and gives you a ton of space. They are web based. I use the paid version of Microsoft Outlook and love it.

Have you checked the "trash" or "deleted items folder" to see if the missing "sent" folder is in there???

Saving email in the "sent" folder might be an option. Check the options or setting and see.

Beyond that the only thing I'd suggest is to do a "system restore" but then you might lose more current info.

Frequent backups are always a necessity if you want to stay safe.

Look for an archive folder.

while dicking around with some of the header icons in the folder I found where it went and it's back to normal. Thanx guys.
