Is that what this turned into? I didn't see it that way. Just stated my opinion and felt you were entitled to yours also. I know I certainly didn't take it as you starting an issue, and hope no one took mine that way. That was surely not the intention.

No biggie. I think it's healthy for people to hear different sides of the subject. Some people like what they like. I don't judge from the viewpoint of me using a particular OS as I have Windows, Linux (couple different flavors) and Mac (arguably Linux). I look at this stuff from the standpoint of having to recommend equipment to clients for their purpose and do have one customer that is an all Linux shop. He got suckered into it by an outside IT guy he hired. He does ok with it, BUT... he is no expert with Linux so he's now hostage to the guy unless he spends a bunch of cash to get a Windows guy in there to revamp everything. There's also a lot of time spent researching compatibility whenever he wants to do something new or different that is typically a piece of cake with Windows. But, I run into the same thing with clients running only Apple machines.
BTW, it's good you're not a command line geek. Those guys scare me.

Funny,,,,
I do good (OK) with windows. You can keep the mac!!! I have not had a apple sence I worked field service repairing 2E's. With any luck I will be able to find some good software for auto diagnostics and dump my pc3 software on it too.

Geek Squad is totally incompetent. They tried 4 times to fix what an independant shop did in 1 try (video card). Screwed me, took my money, and i hadda get real loud & nasty with them until they gave me my money back in store credit. I wouldn't let 'em cheese my mouse!

We wouldn't do such a thing . FWIW one of the 1st things I do when I get a new lap top or computer is set it up to dual boot Windoz and Ubuntu, I only us the Windoz when I just have to use a Win based program which is few and far between.
