You are pro Hell's Angels, or actually even a supporter.

That's what I've heard anyway....

Sounds about right, I know some club members that carry nice little ball peen hammers around on their belts and in their vests for "working on their scoots"

Tucked in right next to their gatt. I can't recall how many times I've been broke down and thunk to myself, "Damn, if'n I had only brought my ball-peen wid me."

But I don't ride with a club, just a long braided whip tied to my handlebars next to my t!ttie tassels.

If the "ball pein hammer" is carried hidden away does one need a concealed carry permit.

In California, your CCW card is specific to a weapon. I qualify and can carry a Glock 27. If I wanted to carry something else I would have to qualify with that weapon. I doubt there is a CCW for a BPH. But maybe you were just saying that tongue in cheek.

James is reading this now saying WTF is this?
Isn't a hammer classified as a tool and not a weapon until you knock someone over the head or kneecap with it?

Not to split hairs, but, dblKick asked about hammers on a club vest. If you're asking about a HA clubber -- HA does not release info on what the smaller vest patches, and symbols, mean. (That whole rico thing?)

SS lightning bolts, on a guy wearing SOA gear, probably means the guy has an eBay account, revolving credit, & a poor self-image. LEO's report, on a HA member, it means the wearer is an assassin (Filthy Few) for the club. The HA decline comment.

It's commonly accepted: The hammer became marketable after numerous hammers turned up at crime scenes suspected of having HA involvement. They replaced tire irons because they were not vehicle specific (premeditation/intent issues), inexpensive & easy to purchase, and they sink. They are reportedly still in use.

I agree that the hammer is a popular HA support item, but part of the allure/mystery of the HA is that you have to be HA to really know what items actually mean on a HA vest.
