Saddlebag Fire Prevention and Dyno Guy Search

Hello Delinquents,

As a fellow NoVa-ginian and periodic lurker to this here neighborhood, I thought I’d drop in a post and seek some advice.

My ’05 Heritage has SEII performance slip-ons, you know, the oversized barrel variety. Well, as with all things (me included), things start to sag. In this case it’s the leather saddle bags. I now have less than a fingers worth of clearance between the bottom of the saddle bag and the pipes. Stuff is getting hot. And I prefer not to have to ride with a flame retardant suit.

Anyway, getting ready to pull the trigger on a set of V&H Big Shot Longs which will give me the clearance (along with look and meatier tone) I’m looking for . Also considering a SERT tuner. So my question is, can anyone recommend a good dyno shop in the area where I can get the tuner installed and the bike dynoed after I hang the new pipes?

I hear Groves HD in Winchester does good work. Also hear Scooter Works (Fredericksburg) is less than good on EFI HD's. Any other suggestions would be really appreciated.

Cheers~!

You would have to call and ask might just be PCIII.

Thanks for the ref Mattman.

I called DD and spoke to Johnny. Tho I didn't specifically mention the SERT, he mentioned the PCIII, which I would prefer as the PCIII is not (I have learned) 'married' to the bike like the HD SERT. Additionally, I am planing a 95 build & cam next winter once the bike is paid off and out of warranty. The PCIII would be a good fit for a new map then, too.

They can also get a vendor price on the V&H BSL's along with an install. Still considering that option. Suppose I could get the whole shootin match done in one shot. We'll see.

The price for the PCIII, install and dyno comes in just over $700. Not cheap. But haven't spent any bux on the bike in a while. It's time.

I plan to ride out to DD this weekend to get the process started.

Appreciate the feedback.

Cheers~!

Also you don't have to let them order everything for you. I having them put a new starter in Fat Boya s my BDL open belt drive killed the stock one....LOL.

I let them order it even though I probably could saved a few $$$ by getting myself from another source. I don't mind them making a few extra $$$ as they have always given me great service.

When I talked to Devils Dawgs about having some tires put on, they told me to get them myself so it would not cost as much. They did tell me to go down the street but they did not care where I got them from
