Help Whitts or East Coast (Flat Tire)

On my trip back into town last night I had a flat tire and now I need to have either Whitts or East Coast pick the bike up and put a new tire on (if the bike is still there). Where would you recommend. Should I have the dealer pick the bike up or another tow company.

RC is great at Custom Cycles, but it looks like you are out in Devil Dawg territory. You might want to try them, they do great work also. Personally, I'd never have my bike serviced at either of those dealers - but then that's just me....

Thanks for the valuable information. I had someone pick the bike up and take it to Whitts against my better judgement. I would assume that it is not that difficult to put a tire on. Although devil dawg quoted me $130 and Whits wants $96 to install a rear tire. I guess it is just one of the joys of living in northern VA. You live and learn I guess. thanks for the advice.

Check for scratches and make sure all bolts are tight before leaving Whitts. That is why I do not use them anymore

I assume that the scratched you bike while it was there. i appreciate the heads up and I will go over the bike really well before I drive off on it. Did the do something about the scratch or try to say it was like that when they go it in.

I was so pissed that I left. I have not gone back for any other service, and I have not any more parts or accessories there.

The scratches were on the headers and since I have replaced the stock exhaust it is no longer an issue. They are managed to loosen the sidestand extension, which would have taken seconds to tighten back up.

DD wanted $130 and Whitt's $96...interesting. I always go to DD, I don't ever recall them charging me $130 to install a rear tire.

But then you probably had to buy the tire from Whitt's so they made a few dollars from that.
