Friday Night Grudge matches anyone?
Just in case you're interested!!!!
Friday gates open at 4:30 PM, Test & Tune - 5:00 to 11:00 PM - $20.00 Race $10 to Watch!
http://www.capitolraceway.com/
Capital Raceway is located on 301 half way between route 50 and 97 on capital raceway street ( 3 miles from my house) I go up there two to three times a month either Friday or Saturday and haven't seen a Harley run there yet! We could change that!!!!!!

First time I ever even heard of this track...1/8, 1/4 mile? The website doesn't work real well and there's not a lot of info...

Was the first NHRA sanctioned Drag Strip in MD held the NHRA top Fuel record for four years in the 60s. 1/4 mile now privately owned and operated usually has about 100 to 200 cars as a local base on Saturday they still run Pro-MODs as an unsactioned race. Alot of the local racers use it as a test and tune track because it is open tile midnight Fri - Sun New concreate launch as of last year just installed two new sets of stands but other than that it's an old track.

I would be interested in doing the track thing again. I haven't even started the bike since I got home Sunday. I need to change the inner cam bearings from the stockers and check the shoes before I run like that again.

Might want to scrap the idea!!
Just looked at the NHRA requirements for Capital raceway much different than the IHRA at MIR. Don't think any of us will meet the requirements!!!!
Motorcycle Requirements
All racers must provide:
Valid Driver’s License
Current Registration
How to use this checklist:
Each race motorcycle will be assigned a fastest allowable elapsed time, based on the level of safety equipment carried. Each item in the list for a particular ET must be present and meet the listed specifications before the motorcycle is allowed to race at that ET index. Due to safety reasons, all motorcycles may not run quicker than 6.00.
Inspection Item - Motorcycles Remarks
All Racers must bring a pen
E. T. 7.00 & Slower
Battery Secure
Radiator Overflow Tank
Dual Throttle Springs/Snap Back
Hoses Secure / No Leaks
Street Legal Exhaust
Approved Tires/NO Knobbies
Chain / Belt Guard
Snell 95 Helmet Full Face
Operational Front & Rear Brakes
Front Suspension Min Travel 1.5”
Protective Clothing note 4
Working Headlight and Taillight
Approved Nitrous Bottle note 3
If db needed/enter reading ->
Ignition Shutoff Lanyard
Protective Clothing note 5
Note 1:
Full Length Pants T-Shirt or equivalent. Closed-toe Shoes that cover ankle, (no high tops). If NOS, Single Layer fire jacket required.
Note 3:
Marked DOT - 1800 psi. If in trunk, firewall required. Seat or Sheet Metal across opening. (32 thousands aluminum or 24 thousands steel)
Note 4:
Motorcycle SFI Spec 40.1/1 or 40.1/2 suit or leather jacket, boots/shoes above the ankle, and gloves.
Note 5:
Motorcycle Full leathers or SFI Spec 40.1/2 suit mandatory. Two piece suits must be joined by a zipper at the waist.

Must mean that there are not any modified Harleys that can run, since the vast majority of HD and aftermarket performance exhausts are stamped with for off-road or race use only. Give or take stock HD exhausts, or maybe some of the 07 weenie exhausts, not much is street legal.
And if they are looking for certification stickers in leather jackets, I'd suspect only the Honda/Kawasaki crowd in bright red, has them...

Ok, (can't resist)....
I've got a street legal bike, but my pipes are technically "offroad use only", and I pulled my belt guard. What class can I run in?
And I've got a leather jacket with no stickers, is it any good?
My throttle has two cables, but only one spring, will it work?
