HD-LUX Where are you???
I need my coach for MIR. If the day looks good I'm planning to head over there for test and tune in the AM. I'd plan to get there as the gates open.
Where's Chris, I need his experienced self to get me into the 9's....
Any other Delinquents interested?

Me? I'm in h*ll.
As for the 9's?
Some things I picked up at the track: the traction compound where you launch is so sticky that I really though I was going to leave my boots at the starting line so keep them tied tight. Full face is required but that's all. I found launching hard with 3,500 or 4,000 RPM worked better than coming off idle and whomping it. MIR has teeth! He who power-shifts wins,no lie, it's worth 1 - 2 tenths. Your 60' time is ultra critical so pay attention to it. You can't go through the traps in 3rd no matter how hard you try. And leave the saddle bags, tool rolls, and windshields at home but bring the sunscreen and lots of water--it gets real hot sitting in line waiting for your turn. And the BBQ sandwich isn't half bad.
Actually I did get the bike out yesterday when a neighbor offered to watch the kids. The OL and I went tooling around but I lost her. She said she saw Billymac out on the road.

We'll have to get the OL's out together and ride sometime, Linda is getting rather good...she's become a great deal more serious about a bigger bike!

Lea has been sneaking in some miles too. She's started to talk about "that bobtailed Harley" a lot. I think she's eyeballing the Softail Standard.
PS: After spending 3 years draggin at MIR I've learned that I am not very good at it. So your best bet is to do the opposite of whatever I recommend.
I saw a Boss Hoss with a dual shot of NOS for 1,000 HP at the Gettysburg Bike Week last year. Had two of those big car sized tanks on a 502 cu.in. V8. WTF?!?

Do you launch in first or second?
Also, please define "power shifting".
Thanks,
Bob

and it was a glorious day for a ride!!!!
I don't know why people get all caught up with NOPI chicks. they're scrawny little things with big bosoms. Now cars, there were some hot cars there and a few quick bikes. A couple cars were breaking 200 mph and we didn't even stay for the finals.
Looks like Sunday morning test and tune is definitely in my future!

oh and JS and I stopped by Quantico and revved our bikes in the yard of 'he with a springer softail who used to ride'. He was too skeered to even open his door and admit his wife has pulled his liberty chit! tisk tisk

If I hadn't gone to sears after lunch and visiting the electronic stores I would have been home to go for a ride. you should have called me when you left buds creek. You riding next Sunday? I'll be going to rolling thunder. We'll have to figure out the meeting spot for the event.
