Anyone at Laconia?
How is the Laconia rain festival going? I was going to ride up on Sunday but it rained. Now I'm back to work and it looks like the weather might break on Wednesday. I was going to try again this weekend but it looks like more rain! Does anyone have any reports from there? Thanks.

Today was very nice but crowded. Tomorrow is supposed to be very nice then rain till Sunday.

Just got back today as well. Excellent weather today.
Rain festival...that's funny. If you aren't man enough to ride in the rain then you should only be driving a cage.

I have been an MC/LEO for over 20 years riding year 'round. I have done more than my share of riding in the rain (or sleet or snow), thank you.

We're heading up today, looks like best day of the week. If weather permits, Saturday also.

Went to Laconia today, the weather was perfect. Lots and Lots of bike traffic, very difficult to get to the vendor areas.

Went yesterday, like rob said excellent weather. I didn't think the traffic was too bad, being a Wednesday the crowd was not as big as on the weekends. Started out at the HD demo ride in downtown Laconia then went to Laconia HD. Had a great lunch at Hart's Turkey farm next door to the dealership, went and checked out all the vendors there. Headed to Weirs beach afterwards, tons of vendors on the main drag and at the Lobster pound. Bought a t-shirt, that's all but I was very tempted to buy a Wheeldock center stand, definitely something to consider for the future, that thing is sweet! Looks like the rest of the week is a washout, hopefully we can go on Sunday.

Was up there yesterday, awesome. Was going to go Friday but the rest of the week looked like rain.
Test rode the Can-Am (3 wheeler) 2 front wheels, one back wheel. It is not a motorcycle, but it fun riding. Faster than I thought but kind of weird turning and holding a straight line. Good brakes. I rode the semi-automatic, nice just pushing a button for an upshift, it automatically down shifts at 2400rpm or you can force a downshift. Having no hand brake only a foot brake took a little getting used to. Also keep trying to grab the clutch!!

Me too. I went yesterday. Checked out all the vendors at Laconia HD, Harts Turkey Farm, Funspot, then on to the Weirs, where I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening. I stayed for the fireworks at 10 (which were really pitiful). I may go back this weekend if the weather dries out any.
I missed Rhett Rotten this year. He has been a Laconia standard for years.

I live a few towns over from Weirs (where all the action is). Its rained every year that I can remember going back to the early 70s when I was a kid. The locals actually don't take vacation that week because we know it will rain.
I went up on Tuesday all day, then Wednesday after work. Weather was great. Bike week is not what it use to be. I played in a band that played up there during bike week in the 80s and 90s. It was one big party back then. Now its nothing but a country fair with vendors selling crap. Best part is the custom bike builders. Some real nice custom bikes though. Best time up there was sitting in Alton Bay, watching all the different bikes roll through. From one extreme type to another.

Just got home to the Adirondacks from Laconia.
I pitched my tent in Pine Hollow Campground (+) on the 1st Saturday, & walked across the road to the Broken Spoke Saloon (+). Yea, it rained (-), but they do know how to biker party on rainy days & nights. Although I planned to see the races, & especially the "Vintage Grand Prix", I stayed dry with short runs to Wierd Beach (+/-), the Looney Bin (+), & bounced around vender city until Tuesday. Weather cleared so I rode up the coast of Maine to Bar Harbor (+) & back home on the Kancamagus Highway (++).
Somewhere in Maine I noticed a hotel banner welcoming a vintage motorcycle convention, so I place my softtail (+) between a panhead (+) & an Indian (+) & took a room (+).
Yea, if I feared the rain, I would have missed out on a real good trip.
