Creative Ways to Mount EZPass?
I was wondering if anyone here in the Northeast who uses EZPass has come up with a creative way to mount the transponder on their bikes without marring the surfaces of the windshield or the consol or do you just stuff it in your jacket pocket? May sound like a stupid question, but I really don't want to glue anything to my windshield or consol as the EZPass people here in PA say I have to.

The best thing Ive seen is this:
Get yourself a big @ssed OL, strap her on the back with some low cut shorts on. Then while she is sittin there, slide that thing down the canyon in the back of her pants. Warm and secure. I saw this on a NJ tollbooth with a GIANT girl on the back of a sport bike. She dug for maybe 2 min to try and whip it out for the sensors...I almost vomited while laughing way too hard...
Ive seen a little holder (plastic cage) at the local dealer. Smaltz's. Not sure hwat it costs, or what, but im sure it would be a vehicle to mount with a clamp or some other method. That or just drill 1 or 2 holes, wire tie, RTV and be done with it...
Since its RF base(I believe) it should work just fine in your jacket pocket or pants. But that would be worth testing, so as to avoid further legal ramifications...

I kinda like the big OL idea....lol Seriously though, thanks for the reply. Where in SE PA are you located? I own a courier business based out of PHL, so I get down that way quite a bit. Thats why I have the EZPass, I'd rather take the Turnpike / Blue Route over from Bucks County than deal with the a**hole cagers on I-95.

I have mine mounted to the underside of the tourpack lid, centered. Works great and is out of sight.

Velcro it to your vest!
I used to keep mine in my vest, chest pocket and hold up as I drove thru. It wasn't every day...and I hate the MA pike anyway...but it DID work

I keep mine in my saddle bag in a ziplock sandwich bag and when I know I'm going to need it I use these big paperclips I have. I wrap the bag over the top lip of my windshield and clip it all down. It ain't pretty but it reads. When I'm just riding around NH I don't worry about it. They take a pic of my plate and withdraw the coin out of the account.

Great thread !!! And your reply was HYSTERICAL. (Never expected it!). Would love to see that on Walt Whitman, or any NJ TPK exit. But would get more attention w/ a different girl.

I have the 3 bag windshield pouch setup. I keep mine in the right side pouch and oriented as if it were mounted on a windshield. Never a problem.
They will read equally well mounted to the inside of your outer faring, the lids of your saddlebags and tourpacks too so long as they are mounted in the right orientaion.
You'll be able to go through the EZPass express lanes at 80mph and it will still register .......... not that I've ever done that.

Easy pass will work any where you put it as long as it is not in the bag that it came in. I keep mine in the tour pac and it reads all the time. I dont know why you think that you have to have it on the windshield or hold it in your hand. If for any reason it does not read, a pic will be taken of the tag and easy pass will see if a transponder is assigned to the tag then charge from there.
There have been time that I have forgotton my transponder (I use one for car and bike) and am still charged the toll cost by the plate #.

Thanks for the reply. I guess it depends on what agency issues the transponder. In PA you are required to have a separate transponder for each vehicle you own and motorcycle transponders are different. According to the EZPass service center here, the transponder is tied into the weight of the vehicle and for motorcycles, it is designed to be mounted on the windshield or consol. Probably a bunch of crap, but I just used it for the first time on the Delaware Memorial Bridge while it was sitting in the inside pocket of my leather jacket and it read just fine.

Beats having to duct tape it to your helmet...

If you want to add some chrome.. I have one of these, pricey but worth it... Works every time, and never had to worry about it falling off. Very good guy to deal with...

You got it. They even tell you that if your EZ Pass is in your glovebox of your car or truck, and its not in the bag, it will still register, and you will get charged.
If you have saddlebags and go through tolls alot or will be traveling, put some velco underneath the lid of your saddlebag, and afix it there. It will register everytime, and will keep it dry and safe.

Not vehicle specific
When I got mine from MD, I only got two because I did not know the license plate number of my MC. So she gave me one for the truck and one for the car and said it didn't matter which one I put it in, so the OL has hers mounted but mine is portable, and I used it for my friend's car once and once for the MC. My riding friend has an UC and put it into the fairing by his feet and he says it works great. Out of sight, out of mind.
