DieselBob is on a distinguished road
Philly (area) to Fort Johnson, NY

I am heading North on friday...I would like to avoid 476 and the major roadways obviously...Anyway, I was curious if anyone had some suggestions on paths to get up there...Ive heard 206 or 209...I am trying to optimize speed somewhat, but not in any big hurry...Im gonna be rollin solo and it will be an evening/night ride...so not too many views to be had..unless there are some nice lookouts...

Also, curious if Anyone has been to OCC. I figured its a novelty thing to go check out. I went to school up there, and never stopped before they got too corporate. Anyway...thanks!

209 is a nice smooth ride, even smoother at night. Just keep a big eyeball out for the bambi's..plenty of em..

well, I survived the trek from home to NY and back. I took the mother of all detours geting up there tho. Basically a flaw in navigation preparation. oh well, it was interesting!

209 is a great ride. Except when you get into Port Jervis and everyone is yelling at you to put a helmet on. (I didnt even realize I was in NY!!!) I guess that is a good thing..I was enjoying the ride. I had some issues around 80, due to the fantastic PA signage, but figured it out. Anyway, going North will def always have 209 to 9W in the plans.
