Anybody going to MountainFest in WV?

Morgantown, WV is the place to be during MountainFest Bike Week (http://www.wvmountainfest.com/) during the last weekend in July from the 24th thru to the 27th. Although I may seem partial since I live in WV, I've been to Myrtle Beach and Daytona Bike Weeks and MountainFest is beginning to equal many of the highlights from the bigger venues. Buster "Cowboy" Brown will be here for the same events as the Rat Hole he hosts in Myrtle Beach Bike Week. He'll be doing it at The Coal Bucket Saloon, right at the entrance to the adult only campground. Last year, our Governor, Joe Manchin and Willie G. Davidson led the Parade of Bikes that several thousand of us rode in through Morgantown and the outskirts. Nothing like cruisin, nonstop through intersections and traffic lights, roaring past thousands of onlookers who were in awe of the sight the were seeing and hearing. If you were unlucky enough to actually need the main road during this parade, you had to wait 45 minutes to an hour from the 1st bike to the last. And we cruised at a pretty good clip! Visit the website and give WV a shot if you have the time.

WV Caveman .........Planing on going for the first time this year. Sounds like it will be very interesting with all that is going on especially the rides scheduled. Hope it is not as crazy and crowded as Daytona and Myrtle Beach but we wil see.

Mountainfest

Nowhere near as crowded as Daytona and Mountainfest. We're heading down from PA. don't miss the vintage race and vintage bike displays. Although it makes me feel old to see a lot of bikes I owned on display.

One more day before the event starts! Well, actually it starts today if you want to get in the adult campground early. We'll be going in the morning and hopefully since we prepaid for our site, we'll get a good spot. I loved the vintage bike display from last year and the race. Like they say, legends never die! Seems like each year this bike rally gets better and better. Are y'all staying a few days or just going for a day? Either way, its a very nice rally and the rides are beautiful. We're definetly doing the free BFS poker run ($1500 best hand and $500 worst hand) and we are considering doing the free $20,000 statewide run. You only need 11 of the 18 stops stamped and we can get our card today from Mountaineer Racetrack and Casino (one of the stops) as it is very near to us. Keep the rubber side down!
