If you have the time, I recommend staying at Watoga State Park in a cabin for a week and taking day trips each day to include Cass Scenic Railroad, Nat-Radio Astronomy Observatory, Snowshoe Resort, and Highland Scenic Highway.
For shorter trips, the Marlinton Motor Inn would be a good choice.

DueceDog I just received the Motorcycle Touring pamphlet and magazine from Pocahontas County the other day. Read thru it once and called my riding buddies and said "we have a place for a ride". It looks fantastic!

__mudflap__ I have ridden a lot in the Sugar Grove/Brandy Wine area in the Eastern Panhadle and it is spectacular. Scenery is amazing and the George Washington Nation Forest and Seneca Rocks is very nice as well.

LarryM Been there, done that.

Great riding country. Nice hills and turns. The roads were well maintained. Light traffic.

Marlinton is a nice town to stay in with a few restaurants. Met Ms. Pocahontas County. She was nice. A ski resort has a restaurant on top of a mountain with great views. Good for lunch.
