After about 15 years i am back into to riding.Its been a tough come back was injured back in 1987. Got remarried in 1991 and my wife does not want to lose the father of her children. riding is my passion but she does not like this love the woman but i bought a new sporty back in feb. of 2005 and she realy has a hard time when i ride .barely put 1200 miles on it in 6 months.need help with this problem to ease her mind she will Not ride with me either

I can't help with the wife problem. My wife doesn't ride and won't even sit on it in the garage. I took the MSF safety course and tell her I always ride defensivley, never knowing what the other person may do. Just be prepared for anything.

Welcome from another Missouri person. This is a great forum. I can't help either with the wife situation. My first wife told me I would never own a Harley - it took me about a year after we divorced to save up the down payment. Now on my third Harley and third wife.... I do love my wife (or wives), but Harleys are a big part of who I am, so it either gets accepted or I go riding and the wife stays home. I am really lucky that my current wife loves riding.

Being a wife, (who also rides) I do understand her concern, you have children, but she has to understand your love of the sport..in time, her uneasiness will go away...I hope, for your sake, and maybe one day she will get on the bike.

I have always been a freebird, and daredevil..i love the thrill of danger, but will admit, I will not get on the back of anyone's bike. I like having control over my own life...

too each their own, just enjoy many yrs of safe riding!
