New Fat Boy Owner

I bought an 15th Anniversary Fat Boy yesterday, sold my 04 Sportster Roadster to get it. This is my first B/T and only my second street bike.

The Sportster was a lot of fun, great bike. Quick and light feeling when riding. But I'm 6'2' 210 lbs and I always felt to big for the bike. I tried the Dyna before buying this one , but still felt big on them as well.

This Fat Boy feels great, lots of power (came with the 95 ci engine and it looks like an S/E AC on it) I want to put some SE ll slip on mufflers to make it sound more like a Harley, and Iam thinking about changing the floorboards to something narrower (to improve the lean angle ?) and a Lindby bar.

Any other suggestiions from other owners about changes , modifications ?

Thanks ,

Xaran

Hi and Congrats, did you go with the silver or black?
Got my first ever Bike, first ever Harley, a 15th aniv black FatBoy about 6 weeks ago, and have put the Lindby twin bars on it.
Should have done this years ago.

Do you 15th anniv Fatboy guys know what came on the bike stock? My dealer says the download and SE filter are stock but I am wondering about the download.

And how do like the power compared to an 88" ? A V-rod comparison isnt really fair as it revs so much higher. Congrats on the new one. I cant wait to get mine next week.

ftby24, Carrie,

I saw a picture of your bike, I think in the exhaust pictures section. You have the SE 16ga Double Barrel pipes don't you ? How do you like them ? I am looking for that type of look but don't like the V & h Big Shot taggered because they are too loud for me, I hear that the SE Pipes are a little quieter.

firstgrp1,

I didn't know about the MAP ,so I called the H/D Customer Service for engine and accessories and they confirmed that the Annv Model with the 95 ci comes with the Stage 1 MAP the bike also comes with the SE A/C..

I am about to change the exhaust and my dealer said that I needed to do the MAP, so either they don't know or I'm going to pay for something I don't need.

As far as the power, I have not ridden a stock 88 for more than a few miles, but my 95 has all of the power that I want at this time, it's very smooth and pulls strong from idle up. The only thing I want is a little more of the harley sound, the stock mufflers are a little to quiet (Honda sound), If you look at the factory numbers it is a significant difference.

Yeah, I just got mine a couple days ago. Black just like yours. I am happy with it. I have the Vance and Hines Bigshot Staggard. It sounds good and runs good. It is confirmed from many different sources that our bikes come with the SE air filter and the download. I have learned that some dealers dont know what the hell they are talking about. I'm sure they know more about bikes than I do but I at least ask on this forum if I have any questions. There is more knowledge here than anywhere else when it comes to Harleys.
Anyway, have fun on the new ride. I know I will. Later.
