new rider and harley owner from Louisiana

Hi all , and first of all thanks for agreat board.

I am new to riding and just bought my first bike , a 1997 harley road King. I love it!!!! It only had 4700 miles and is in great shape. I took it out Saturday morning for my first nice road ride. I loved it!!! I am hooked.

As i said i am new to riding learning alot and have alot to learn. I am taking the local MSF corse this weekend. I cannot wait for it.

A little bit about me... I am 34, male, married and 3 kids. Born and raised in Louisiana about 1 hour from New Orleans. I am a cardiac / acute care nurse practitoner.

Welcome Dwayne! Good to hear your taking the safety course. Never heard of the RK, being a beginners bike. Be careful and keep us posted on what you've learned at the course.

Hi Carrie. I guess beginner is what you start with. That is why I am taking my time, reading and learning all I can. I understnad that a RK can be challenging for a newbie. But i welcome the challenge and long for the pleasures of the ride.
