Advice for more torque

Have an 08 ultra classic, we do most of our riding in state and national parks, need more low end torque for taking off on inclines and when riding slow on high twisting roads. I like our top end and gas mileage, but need more low end torque.

Friends are telling me that cams and a compensating sprocket will give me what I need.

Any advice?

I would recommend some Andrews 48H cams or something similar, air cleaner, good exhaust and changing your front pulley to a 30 tooth and the rear to a 68 tooth sportster pulley with the isolated drive system. By changing both pulleys you wont need a belt change. This will really make a change in the bike bottom end grunt and acceleration. Depending on your tuning module, which you will need if you do not have one, you may or may not need a speedo recallibration unit like the one from Dakota Digital. If you run a TTS tuner, it has the ability to recallibrate your speedo. JMO

I agree.I have an 08 Ultra and the tall gearing sucks.I am debating the 30t trans sprocket also but hear it is a huge job.

Pipes and a free breathing air cleaner to start with. IMHO SE 204 cams is all the cam you'll need. It'll give you the low to midrange torque you are looking for .

Friends are recommending 255 cams. I have V&H slips ons and a K&N air cleaner. Not sure if I should bite the bullet and go with a 103 upgrade or just cams. Any suggestions?
