Kind of new to the site.
Hello everyone,
I say kind of new cause I've been browsing the site for about a month now. I'm sometimes slow to post to web sites until I think I know what they're about. Seems like good folks and some really good info here! Has helped me alot already. Anyways on to the introduction.
I've been riding for 22 years. My first bike was a used Kawasaki 900. It served it's purpose. The price was right, easy to ride and get a licsense on, plenty of power for a beginner and to make sure I was going to like riding motorcyles as much as I thought I would. AND I DID! Next bike was a new 1983 Honda V65 Magna. Had some bucks and had to have the fastest production bike made that year. Rode that bike for 20 years. After 20 years you tend to get attached to something but I must admit my heart and eyes would stray at other bikes, but life and cash kept getting in the way. I would have to remind myself that some ride is way better than no ride. Well life and cash came back round my way and a month ago I got my new ride, a 2000 Harley Ultra Classic. I am loving this bike. What a cruise. I don't know if age has anything to do with it, but getting away from the light faster than the other guy just doesn't seem as important anymore. I just want to cruise and having a little style while I'm doing it.
Test rode many bikes before deciding on the Harley. Victory, Honda Goldwing and VTX 1800, Yamaha Royal Star, BMW. Really thought I would like the Goldwing, but wasn't comfortable at all and reminded me of more like driving a car rather than riding a bike. I will say that electric reverse is a nice option. Decision came down to the VTX 1800 or the Harley. Had to remind myself about that first from the light thing and when I sat on the Harley, started it up and took it for a ride it was all over, I was in Hog Heaven!
And, oh yea, the old lady likes it too!
