What is the difference?

In the riding experience between a cruiser and standard bikes? It's obvious sport bikes are extreme to that end of motorcycling, how about standards (like the Ducati Monster, BMW's 1150r, Honda's 919) would they be considered a compromise between cruising & sport riding?

Here's a good link on it;
http://www.sargentcycle.com/csroadcom.htm

Standard bikes seat you more upright than cruisers and put a little more weight on the handlebars and a little less on your butt. The wind-pocket at higher speeds that you get on a cruiser isn't as bad on a standard. A good windshield/fairing will help lots though with either one.

Habanero Kid is on a distinguished road
That's a good link. I was always told that styles of bike were different because of riding positions. That page explained it well.
