Welcome, I'm only 31 and I think my midlife crisis started a few years ago I've had a 80 Fat Boy, 90 Sporty (wanna be wide glide conversion), 07 vrod, & just picked up my 10 road king a few weeks ago. The road king is by far my favorite but to each their own. Good luck!!!!!

Welcome!
I bought a 2009 Dyna (FXD, the stripped down model of the Dyna family) I have put on over 6000 miles, rode it like I stole it, I mean just beat the snot out of that scooter, and am pleased to say that it is by far one of the best motorcycles I have ever owned, out of 35 or so.
Its not my first Harley, and I ride some others too ('72 Triumph Bonneville, '90 Kawasaki ZX7, BSA 250 Starfire, you get the picture) The best I can suggest is to find a dealer that will let you test drive the models you are interested in.
You can also help yourself out tremendously by checking out the model forums, on this website, and seeing what folks feel the pros and cons of their models are.
Good luck, and happy scooter shopping!

Hi, Welcome to the sight. I'm happy with my 99 Fatboy. Good for around town. I can lean it over & feels light for the weight. Hi-ways are ok. Cept you get blown around a bit when a semi passes you or you pass one. You sit upright & not leaned over with the legs streached out.

Think that wind issues will happen on any model. Bat wing fairings also have the wind to contend with. Floor boards. Ride one with them & you'll want them on your bike maybe.

I'd guess your needs on what you want to do with it & how it feels to you. Will decide what you buy. Dave

Thank you all.
I went to a local dealer over the week and got to take a 2010 fatboy for a few miles..... Love every second of it. im not going to be doing lots and lots of long miles so it felt perfect. I'm hopefully going back this weekend to test drive few more and then hopefully be able to make my choice but at the moment its looking like a fatboy!!
