In the Beginning Mod said...Well, Mod said that I had to start with a thread here. So here I am to introduce myself.
I have chosen the the name Oyebos for this forum cause someone else already uses the name that I use on a couple of other forums.
I have been riding for 40+ years and my hobbies include anything to do with motorcycles. When I can't ride I read and search information on motorcycle mechanics and comparisons. I read the magazines that describe builds and modifications that can be done by the owners. In short I have a long term love affair with two wheel transportation, be it off road or on, with my greatest interest in touring.
Oyebos is the name that the Africans of central West Africa call those of us that don't naturally come from their area. I have been called oyebos for just over 5 years as I worked around the coastal countries up and down west Africa from Nigeria down to Angola drilling oil wells at sea.
Presently I am riding a 09 Ultra Classic that I have not had much time to ride. During the limited time that I have had at home I have been busy remodeling my house, so that has cut into my time on the road in a big way, but that will end soon. I have managed to put just over 2500 miles on the new bike since I bought it back in April. I am planning a cross country ride in the spring and I can hardly wait.
Today I sit onboard an offshore drilling rig wishing I were riding but knowing that this is what allows me to enjoy my hobby.
I am here to learn what I can from you and enjoy our mutual interest. To all of you...enjoy the ride and watch out for the cagers.
