Old School but New to V-Twin
The handle coupe 55, well that is because I own a 55 Belair HDT. Coupe, and have run out of handles. I am 58 years young but if I had any idea I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself. I am a retired Tech Teacher, and hail from East Kentucky a little off the road onclave close to Pikeville Ky. I am a college grad, a tech school grad, and a Vietnam Veteran. I rode a little in my younger days but got out soon after I started teaching school in 1978. I got the empty nest thing going in 1999 and got back into riding. I owned several rice burners early on and was partial to Kawasaki, some real screaming 750's and 1000's back in the day. I went with Harley in 99 because of my buy American attitude now and to be honest they were building a better bike than they used to. I own a 2003 FLHT bought new in 03 and was in a bad accident. A pill head crossed center on me with no warning and I could not get away from him. I recovered with the exception of a Harley Leg and still love to ride. I am having trouble with the leg now and after several sinus infections have developed a mild inner ear thing. My balance some days is less than desirable. I am going to the old mans bike now or trike to be exact and have ordered a 2010 Harley Triglide. I got an old Yamaha Rhino I ride in the mountains on only because Harley don't make ATV side by side's. I am enjoying my retirement and hope to have a few good years left to ride. I figure the only way to learn more about a product is to talk to guys/gals who own and ride them. So here I am. Thanks for letting me hang around and congratulations on having one of the better Harley forums on the Net.

Hi n welcome, good intro, for yr info, I have that inner ear thing and the ear specialist told me to get out walking and "retrain my brain". I did, and I also picked a spot to walk to and closed my eyes for a second or two whilst walkin then checking to see how off line I was.Worked for me, no probs now, hope that might help.
Good luck n ride safe.

Thanks for the inner ear advise, I will try it. The meds I take for it makes me drowsy which ain't a real good way to ride either.

Welcome! Just joined the forum myself. I had a KZ750 for 5 years or so, back in the 90's. It was faster than my Road King, but not nearly as much fun. Let us know when you get the trike - I'm really curious about first impressions vs. riding two wheels. Take Care. Ride Safe.
