Hey, all. I'm Dave from the hills of NC (xplanted hillbilly). My current scoot is a '94 FXDL. I posted a pic in the Gallery section for the curious.
This is my second H-D; to be honest, it's my second bike, period.
I've got a pretty nasty case of arthritis. I was born in '73, so you can do the math. After not being able to walk for about 10 years, I was forced to get a total hip replacement in '06.
I rediscovered the joys of walking and being able to look folks in the eye again. Something about it must've given me a wild hair, 'cause 2 months after getting cut, I bought an '04 XL883 off my best friend.
I was hooked.
6-8 months later, I bought the Lowrider.
Fast-forward 2+ years and 40K-somethin' miles, I'm still hooked and still just as excited when I saddle up today as I was then.
For me, it's a new lease on life. I still hurt a lot, and, no doubt, I'll be under the knife several more times... but I'm alive, and I'm LIVING.
Anyway, 'nuff with the Jack Handy moment... I've been lurking around here about as long as I've had the Lowrider and figured it was time to break the silence.
So... well-met and thanks for all the info, insight, and entertainment!
