Welcome from Michigan..........Have you ever been to the Ace Cafe? I would like to go there one of these days. I often look at the web site and the past. It reminds me of my early days of riding also. I go back to 1958 and previous rides were BSA Norton AJS Matchless.

All were great bikes for their day...so what made you make the switch from "domestic" bikes to "import"?
Cheers

Hi Johnlee, I went to the original Ace cafe before it closed in 1969. Funnily enough I was married to the Grandaughter of Donald Heather, the MD of AMC motorcycles. Saw plenty of Blueprints of motorcycles that never left the drawing board. Unfortunately he was also the man who wouldnt admit that the british Motorcycle industry was on its last legs.

Last domestic bike I owned was a brand new 79 Bonneville, I was so disappointed with the quality control of the bike I moved on to a couple of Hondas, then a Guzzi lemans, Eventually built a VW trike and have had that since 1995. Still use it regularly. Now have a custom Softail and have finally found what I have been looking for lol.[IMG] [/IMG]
