Howdy from western Colorado
Well, Hello To All.
I grew up in southern California, San Fernando valley to be exact. Waaaay back then, I don’t even remember what year, I attended a Calif. State Hwy Patrol auction and came away with a well used 1964 panhead. About a year after that it emerged from my parent’s garage rebuilt and reborn back into a rigid frame, 8”over forks, 21” front wheel, small sissy bar, fat bobs, contoured seat, usual stuff. Nothing fancy, just a heck of a good rider. And believe me I rode that thing all over the 6 western states. It pains me to tell you that there are no fotos remaining of that bike. And the bike itself is I know not where.
Anyway, life happens, the years slip by, marriage, jobs, kids, etc. I’m now in western Colorado and I am 1 year away from retiring and I have a BURNING desire to re-create that bike. I just don’t think this old carcass can handle the rigid frame anymore. I know this is not the forum to ask a lot of questions, so where should I be posting with several questions along those lines? Any other old guys here?
